 Post subject: Boat registration numbers

I picked up the dark letters matching the boat color....do they have to go below the rub rail or can I put them above it on the white....

In Texas the law states "at or near the bow of the boat on both sides". You'll see number above or below. Think about it...bass boats almost always go above because they don't have room to go below. However, a lot of smaller runabouts put them above as well because they don't have the freeboard wake boats have. Wake boats almost always are below. I've only seen one above...it just looks weird in my opinion because the numbers are going to have to be applied all the way to the bow because that's where the white it. The numbers have to CONTRAST the background color. Since you ordered blue, I guess you have to be the oddball lol (no offense) but it's your boat so as long as you like it. I would've gotten white personally with a little chrome outline, would look better because it would be further back from the bow plus under the rail.

Agree below.. I bought my boat used and it had it above, granted they didnt place them very well, but it looked bad. Before and after.
