So at the boat show I noticed Centurion is now putting pylons on the sides of the tower. The sales guy explained it was to help with people getting up as it doesn't drag you to the center of the boat. Not really a issues for us except with the small kids. Has anyone seen these available? I have searched everywhere any cannot find anything... Really think this would help my 5 year old get up :)

Thank Brad

Wake9 makes a strap they call the WakeSurf Nubbin that you can use on the side of your tower to try and help new riders get up.

I think that maybe an older version. I haven't seen that one before. The new one or at least what I think is the newest is a black strap probably 2" wide and 18" long with a caribener on each end. I have one and used it on my old Tige R20. Nice thing about the strap one is that you can change it side to side of the boat easily versus a fixed one that you would need to move or buy two of them if you were teaching people on both sides. Once they get the hang of it it isn't really worth using.

Yea true. I'll order one up and try it :)

When my twins were 6, I just anchored the inner tube and had them sit on the edge with the board. I would start with a bit of a turn. After about a month, they had enough coordination and balance to get up without it. We also use the inner tube with all of our newbie friends. It saves a tone of gas by helping get them up the first or second time.
In my experience turning into the surfer at start up helps to keep them from getting sucked into the wake.
BTW- I'd be a little concerned about the stress on the tower when rope is hooked to only one side. These towers aren't designed for that. Small kids probably not a problem but I wouldn't try it with anyone over 75lbs.

Great input thanks. My 5 year old is like 40 lbs so should not be a issue.

I found having my son sit on a SUP board worked great. He sat on the nose and my mom was on the board as well talking to him as we tightened up the rope. We dragged him for a minute and the board just followed along. It was the perfect position for him to start in. He was only 2 and weighed about 42lbs. I think this would work fine for anyone under 75lbs.

For wake boarding or surfing?
