It is going to just be as is until boating season is over. It really doesn't both me enough to miss any lake time. Bakes has been great so far so I know they will make right in fall.

For all of those facing the same problem as in my initial post here's the solution:

The correct screws are 8-32 x 1”

Another thing on these screws that might help. I used some red loctite on mine and ALWAYS turn them to the right. This way they stay tight. I found that turning them left will make them fall out.

Both of my center windshield latches seem to be missing the screws to tighten them down. Right now they are so loose that the latching mechanism doesn't work at all. Could someone please take out one of their screws and take some measurements for me? Can't walk to Home Depot with the boat under my arm.... :-)
Thanks

Your windshield latches don't have screws because they're riveted. Mine are the same: RIVETS NOT SCREWS. If you want to switch to screws you will need to drill out the rivets. Rivets have an advantage in that they wont loosen/tighten as you turn them and they're aluminum so they wont react with the aluminum windshield frame like stainless screws but you can't tighten them and it sounds like yours are too loose. I would add a thicker piece of weather stripping along the window frame so that the tension comes from the closure of the window, not the friction of the latch.

Sounds reasonable. I will look into it next time I'm on the boat.

My dealer is replacing the rivets to make them a little tighter. Like 2015T22' said, rivets are much better because they stay in place. Other than the drilling out of the old rivet, this is no big deal. My dealer said it will take fifteen minutes. I'm going to get it done on my next oil change.
