I had my 20 hour service completed today at Knoxville's new Axis dealer, Sunny Marine. Called Zach a number of days in advance and set up the day for service. The shop is a good forty plus miles from my home so I was hopping to get it turned around in the same day. Got the boat there this morning and they had it finished early afternoon, and under 200 dollars. No complaints.

How do you like their service etc?
I have a boat at Norris but live in Ohio.

Service was right on. They had the boat back in the service area five minutes after I unhooked it from the truck. Like I said, no complaints. How often do you get to Norris?

Hopefully, we will be there about every weekend July and first couple weekends in August.
We just got a place at Deerfield.

Umm....my 20 hr service was free. Maybe I should appreciate my dealer more than I do. I took a list of 10 warranty items to be fixed at the same time. They did all but the stereo work, also free. It's back in now getting the stereo stuff done.

Anything is negotiable so while you may not have "paid" for it specifically you probably "paid" for in the purchase price.

I just scheduled my first service, quoted $300 and dealer is able to do it same day as it's about 100 miles from me but I have an office nearby I can work out of so that's great because it'll save me a return trip.

**Speaking of Deerfield, we're going down there for our first Norris trip mid July, any recommendations on places to go to/things to do?

Depends what info you are looking for...

For marina food and gas: The closest places are Springs dock which you turn left out of Deerfield. Good food, nice people. They also have soft serve ice cream...lol. G-Rides is a surf/wakeboard shop located there. Nick is the owner, great guy. You can rent boards, buy suits, rent jetskis etc from Nick.
If you turn right out of Deerfield you can head to Shanghai. Good food. Always very slow service-go before you are actually hungry. There is a "jumping bridge" in the same direction. Gets crazy with drunks and loud music but can be entertaining. A lot of folks gather there. Some weekends there is a guy that rents rides on the jet boards? The thing you stand on and it launches you in the air about 30 feet.
On the way to jumping bridge is a marina called Sugar Hollow. Good food but I will not go there. Your boat takes a beating with all the wakes created by passing boaters and their docks are metal. With your nice new boat, you may develop chest pain watching your boat get abused at the dock.
If you head past Shanghai towards Knoxville are you will hit public ramps and some nice marinas. I don't go there as the water is really rough.

We usually head out of Deerfield cove and turn left. Go past the Penninsula homes and head towards a marina callled Flat Hollow. YOu can find some great water, minimal people too. Flat hollow has some good food as well. They have a huge club sandwich. We usually head there early in morning and stop at Flat Hollow for lunch then go past Flat Hollow and you can find some great water-smooth and quiet. If you hear banjos playing, keep going...lol.

Walmart in town is good for food etc. There is a small place called Roosters just outside Deerfield gates. The owners are really nice and they have some deli meat, pop and beer. Small place mostly for stuff you forgot and don't want to drive back into town.

The Tiki Hut is in Deerfield Marina. Good food. No gas there. Music gets loud on weekends. Good place for a drink at the end of the day. They often have hoola hoop and other games for kids. Sometimes live music and other times a DJ.

The clubhouse at the golf course is now serving food and making pizzas. I haven't eaten there yet so don't know much about it. If you head up by the pool and check in area there is a barbeque hut that is supposed to be really good. Ray's BBQ? A lot of local owners eat there. Its just to go as its just a little shack.

If you run into any boat issues, Hessler Marine is there. Greg is the owner. Great guy and he's from Ohio. He went to Wright STate I think?

If you got any questions pm me or if you run into a problem down there feel free to pm me. YOu will see a lot of OHio people there.
