Depends on a few things. What style of surfing are you doing? Skim and longboard will be slower than surf style. Also experience will dictate speed as well. We found that newer surfers ran about 9.5 to 10 mph. Experienced surfers preferred running around 10.8 to 11.5. We run about 3600 lbs with wedge and surfgate. The faster the speed the more solid the wave will be. We haven't really got into skim.

I have some experience with getting a nice, clean surfwake from a listed Axis. You'll be good with the 900 + stock for the surf side rear. Fill up the center and fill the front arrow bag. Start at 10.4. We usually stayed around 10.4-10.8 for the cleanest wave with the best push.

If you have a spare bag put it on top of the surf side seats, or have your crew sit on that side. A little extra bow weight will help too, but be careful bc too much isn't necessarily a good thing. We used a Fly High brick that weighs around 155lbs and it was just right.

This was the best setup for my '13 A20 but should be very similar to an A22. It's fun tweaking things here and there to see how the wake changes, so just keep adjusting until you find what works best for you.
