Hey guys!!

I have an 11 a22 with the raptor 400. We have almost 400 hours on it and I feel like it won't pull the weight it did when it was new. For wakeboarding, we run stock, 750s in the rear, the fly high arrow sack, about 350 in lead in the nose, and a full tank. We usually have about 6 people. 2 years ago, we could run this setup and drop the wedge. Now, it will barely plane without the wedge.

We run this setup only a few times a year so I don't think we are wearing out the engine. I'm going to do a tune up on it this week. I'm changing the plugs and wires. What else would you guys throw at it? The dealer said don't worry about the fuel filter with only 400 hours....

The distributor cap and rotor will probably corrode and need replaced way before the plugs and wires do, I have a 1996 sunsetter vlx in the shop right now doing a tune up and it has all the original ignition on it and the cap was the worst, the aluminum pins oxidize really bad. Is the fuel filter serviceable without replacing the pump? I checked over my 2010 and didn't see one..... The 96 has a spin on filter at the block mounted pump

Air cleaner/flame arrestor could need cleaning. Probably not the problem but if it hasn't been cleaned it should be.

Im with Walter, plugs, wires, cap, button. props not going to wear out, air filter would have to be slap clogged to cause that kinda issue and being that its not driving on dusty roads I don't think that's the issue

My service guy attended some sort of training/certification thing where they recommended running the boat at a high speed for several minutes to burn off the carbon buildup. He said to do this about every other time we went out. Especially if you are constantly running a lot of weight at low speeds. Not sure if this would help your situation of not but was just throwing that bit of information out there.

That's funny .... and he had to go to a training class to know that? that's like an old mechanics trick for little old ladies from back in the day ... long time ago id say maybe 70's an older when there was leaded fuel, points and condenser's there was actually a chance of that working. but nowadays with all the emissions restrictions and computers its to efficient for it to work. .... not saying its not possible I have learned to never say never
