I completely agree, don't give them more than a step or two at a time.

Alright, so we gave it our first shot last night. I went out with them so I could watch a little better, and swapped ropes (10' longer on one) so they could watch me. Each got up after a couple of tries. Both are goofy footed, or at least I assume, as they both naturally put their right foot forward. Didn't get past that, it was getting late. Haven't gotten them to get enough control to control where they go, so they kept going to the right, and eventually fell down. Regardless, they were happy, I was THRILLED! Hope to try again in a few days.

Any thoughts on whether or not I should try to use the boom with them? Might that help them get the board straight a little more quickly? For those who ride tandem while teaching, do you keep the ropes the same length, 5' different, 10' different, or other?
