Must see pics of wake!
Honestly, it wasn't much bigger than other pics you have seen on here. The best wakeboarder on the boat prefered it smaller. It planed easier and was just as big. I think 3500 - 4000 is the sweet spot for the A22. Any more is not needed.
I agree with the 3500-4000 comment as that is when the A22's wake really starts to get big big, (depending on your ballast configuration and water depth…etc). But I disagree with the latter comment, at least in my experience on my water ways. I run with 4k and most of my riding is this way, but when we have a tiny crew 2 or 3, i throw the sumo floor sack down and the wake gets huge. Yes it takes a bit more to plane, but that 800 lbs is more noticeable from 4000-4800 than it is from any other amount (ex: 2000-2800). After 3500 or so, you get incredible returns with every 100 lbs you add, which is not very common with any other boat (except malibu's and last generations xstar). After 4000 lbs, as long as you do not add to the tips or rear, the wake begins to steepen (similar to a wedged wake, but better, firmer lip). The A22 with this set up feels very much like the A24 with about 4000 lbs in it, but the A22 is a tad bit wider.
You are right though, that prop doesn't even know that 3500 lbs of weight is even in there… it will pull that up all day long.
