Alright guys. Need to give a PTM Edge review here.
I have gone through one full year with the PTM mirror and bracket and I have got to say that I wish I had made this my very first upgrade. The mirror is absolutely awesome. Like many, I chose to go the economy route and purchased the CFR-200 bracket. The bracket and mirror are a great combination and I absolutely loved them. I only had one problem and it had to do with the wind deflection.... let me explain.

Without the mirror the aerodynamics of the windshield deflected the wind right over the top of my head while driving. (I am 6'0") With the bracket and mirror there was a gap between the top of the windshield and the bottom of the mirror and the wind seemed to deflect through the gap and hit me right in the face. Not a big deal but it did bother me some. (and lost me a couple of hats)

I called PTM and talked to Nate to explain my issue and he suggested an extension. This extension not only raised my mirror but allowed me many various positions for my mirror. With the extension on I don't have any problem what so ever with the wind hitting me straight in the face. It put the mirror high enough like the tower arm but also allows for many different positions and heights to suit my preference.

We spent all day out on the lake today and I tried it in many positions and I have to mark it right up there with my top add-ons. When I bought the extension I also decided to upgrade my window bracket to the ZXR-230. I will post pics of both brackets in next post and then post mirror positions after that.

Hope this helps.

CFR-200 bracket with the sticky add-ons to make it fit the windshield snug.
ZXR-230 which fits like a glove and is much more sturdy. Also a lot easier to lower.

New bracket (ZXR-230) with extender (EXT-400).
Shown in top, middle, and lower position.
Not just three positions but can position any angle between top and bottom spot to fit your driving preference.

I guess it is just me but I don't use my mirror much. I usually flip my seat around watch first hand. My lake is low traffic so it isn't a big deal.

I've never liked tower mounted mirrors. Don't see how anyone can tow all day and not have a sore neck looking up for hours. The PTM driver's windshield mount looks interesting and definitely looks quality. I'd hate to spend the $$$ only to not like the driver's mounted mirror. I've never had an issue with just using my factory center mount mirror. I just turn my driver's seat 45 degrees and can use the mirror or turn my head easily to watch first hand. Although I am thinking of getting the PTM mirror to replace my factory mirror but still mount it in the center since the PTM mirror offered a wider view. Thanks for the review and pics. Looks great on the Axis.

AJ,
I kept my factory mirror and just added the PTM Edge. IMHO you can never have too many views back of you. I really like the versatility of the set up I have now.
It was in storage but here is my set up. Will get some from back of boat next weekend.
