I am a little confused on the axis tower options. What is the V2 tower? Is it a regular tower with the quick release knobs and swivel rack or a different tower altogether?

Sorry my kid bumped my hand and made me send before I meant to.

The only difference is in the side pieces. The original tower has 4 knobs (2 top and 2 bottom) for each side. When you take those off, the side pieces come out entirely.

The v2 tower has a hinge on the bottom and only 2 quick release knobs on the top. You take off the top knobs and the side pieces fold into the boat.

Getting the v2 option is my only regret. When folded in the heavy side pieces press into the vinyl pretty bad. The also make it much harder to put the tower up/down by yourself since you somehow have to support both sides while lifting the main tower. If you don't have the v2, it's possible to deal with the sides one at a time. If I could go back, I would NOT get v2.

I also have the V2 on my A20. When I fold my tower down I use the wakeboard rack bungees to hold the legs up off the vinyl. This way they just float above the vinyl. The other issue was that speakers resting against the back seats and crushing the vinyl there. To fix that, built a T stand out of a couple 2x4s with a notch in the top. Slide the skybox seat back and rest the post there holding the tower off the seats. I'd rather wreck the bungees than vinyl.

^^^^if you have a 22 it doesn't rest on the sun deck. It folds all the way inside the cabin. You still need to put something down to keep it off your vinyl.

The A22 ships from the factory with a pre made board to hold the tower. My dealer gives them to the buyer. Most dealers just throw them away. Might not hurt to pop in and ask if they have one laying around.

Thanks for the info. My used A2 has the V2 tower. I will definitely check with my dealer to see if they have an extra holder thing or DIY one. I just wish it would quit snowing here so I could get my new boat home and play around with it or at least sit in it and make engine noises.
