I have a 2011 A20 with SP2. I cant really get the sub to get loud. My factory ford f150 sub has way more bass. I have messed with the knobs on the amps, but cannot really figure out whats what. I am by no means a stereo guy, but do have some basic electronics background (I was a commo guy in the army years ago). How is the stereo wired? I have 6 cabin speakers, 4 tower speakers and the single sub. There are 2 MTX amps, one I think is a 400.4 and the other is a 600.4 but I could be wrong. Any help is appreciated! thanks!

Also, would I benifit from getting a seperate amp for the sub? I also woudl like to be able to shut down the tower speakers with a knob or switch, is there something out there that is reasonably priced that I can remotly adjust each speaker group?

I recently purchased a 2011 A22 with the same soundpack. It sounded terrible when I first got it so I decided to go through wiring and settings. All of my speakers were wired properly to the amps but I had no volume from rear speakers. The headunit only has 3 outputs (front, rear, sub) but with (2) four channel amps you have four inputs. What I ended up doing was splitting the front input between the front and rear boat speakers, running the rear input for the tower and using the sub input for the subwoofer. Now I am able to fade between the speakers in the boat and the tower. All of the settings on the amps where completely wrong so I set the high pass filter for the boat speakers and low pass filter for the subwoofer and adjusted all the gains. The subwoofer still didn't sound very good and I noticed that the box was leaking a large amount of air. I removed the subwoofer from the box and caulked all the internal seams and added some insulation to help dampen the box. After sealing I was able to turn the gain on the subwoofer over double what is was before and now I am getting some decent bass from subwoofer. In my opinion the factory subwoofer is decent but the install from the factory was horrible. To run the wires to the sub they just drilled a large hole in the back of a box and none of the seams were sealed at all.

To answer your question on how it is wired.

400.4 amp
Front channels to bow speakers (4 ohm load L+R)
Rear Channels to back 4 speakers in parallel (2 ohm load L+R)

600.4 amp
Front channels to 4 tower speakers in parallel (2 ohm load L+R)
Rear channels to subwoofer (Bridged 4 ohm load)
