Any good suggestions for cleaning the hull?

The acid works great. But like mentioned, make sure you don't get any of it on your rub rail or plastic. I wasn't extremely careful when I did mine and it got on spots of my rub rail. It discolored the black to white... Rookie move on my part.

Amsug... if you YouTube Hula Boat Care they have demonstration videos which even suggest the polisher speeds. The 6" pads are just about the perfect size for working around our boat's curves and valleys. I think I run medium (4-6) speeds on my ROP and it works great!

It doesn't take much wax/polish for each 3x3 square.

The acid you need is Oxalic acid - You can buy it in powder form and mix it with warm water. The off the shelf product is called Y-10, but it's pretty mild.

For buffing you need a wool mop to start with. you can go finer afterwards but you likely won't need to. 3M marine polishes are the best I've used, but any abrasive quality polish will work.
