I know you get what you pay for, but do I really need to break the bank to hear my music? Anyone know if these are good? What are some other good alternatives without me having to upgrade the amp too. The sound inside the boat is great, just the tower lacks my enthusiasm.

ehhh...from what I have heard on other boats with them, they sound like crap, all highs. You would need some speaker cans made, but The alpine 7" marine speakers sound great especially for the price. You can get them for $105 a pair. I would do 4 coaxial at the least. I have them and they sound surprisingly good for what they are. You can also do the JL 7.7". It's mainly the cans that will cost the most unless you can work with fiberglass and use some creativity to make your own. Thats what I did.
