x2 with morris. I think he is DEAD ON.
I loved my buddies 07 VLX, heavily weighted, extra in the bow, no wedge. Loved it loved it. So when it was time for a new boat, we looked at 05-08 vlx's and thats when the A22's were just coming out. I spoke with adam mccall and took some pictures of the hull. basically the A22 is the v25 hull (vlx 05-08) with the front half adjusted to make a pickle fork. I verified this with pictures, to the naked eye they are the same, maybe not exact, but it looks it to me.
I was assured that the wakes would be identical or almost identical, and they were right. The wakes are both money and as with the VLX, the A22's wake is very versatile and you can really tweak it to your liking. The 09+ vlx's wakes are nice, but you need more weight than the previous hull to get the same size, and it feels different... not bad or good, just different.
If you had the 05-08 vlx, then the A22 is for you. It will feel the same when driving, turning and wakeboarding, only thing to get used to is the view from the drivers seat. At first it feels like the bow is too low, has a weird drop to it under the windshield... not like your vlx that you feel like you are sitting down lower in a cockpit. You may not like it on your test drive, just know that it is MONEY that way. the bow rise does not get in the way and it is very functional.
