Hi...I have a 2011 Axis Wake and upgraded my platform to a 2012 so it deflects the wake better for a smoother larger surf wake. I was wondering if anyone has seen some of the new surf gates out there and was wondering if there was a way for me to fabricate a similar manual surf gate and attach it to my old 2011 platform which came with the boat. It doesn't have to be pretty since I'm just in it for the surf wake.

Thanks and your help and feedback is appreciated.

I think anything with a surf gate type mechanism has a reinforced transom/ hull so im not sure if there will be a retro fit due to stress the boat encounters from a surf gate type product ..... but who knows for sure

Hey evanspenn,

How much did it cost you to upgrade to the new platform and did you notice much of a difference?

It's night and day different...no comparison between the 2 platforms. The new shape is well worth it.

Makes sense on the reinforcement. I surfed a Malibu yesterday with it and the design is pretty interesting. Was surprised that the opposite side gate opens for the wake.

I paid $1100 for the 2012 platform for a 2011 A20. There was a big difference for sure...the water flows under the new platform. On the 2011 it would get chopped by the big hollow cavern underneath which is all filled in a 2012.

No feedback from me though on the 2013 platform...
