Well I bought my boat(2012 a20) in July last year and so far it seems to have a never ending list of problems. I had air pockets in my gel coat which caused cracks above the tie downs in the back, my boat had a cloudy look to the gel above the rub rail and throughout the inside of the boat, and my windshield trim keeps breaking(common issue from what my dealer says) I could live with wrapping them in vinyl if that was my only problem. Had all these issues fixed and brought it home today to find the fiberglass cracked and chipped by my windshield. So my question is how many of you are having warranty issues with your boats? I could live with little items but cracked fiberglass and gel coat is not something I can tolerate in a new boat with 30 hours on it. I'm currently working with my dealer to "make it right" with Malibu. My family loves the boat but I'm less than impressed with the quality of my boat.

I had a problem with some fiberglass cracks myself. Nothing major. All the cracks are where the factory did not properly pre-drill or counter sink screws. It was a pain to have Malibu cover it under warranty. Malibu stated it was only cosmetic and was not covered under warranty. My dealer and I said BS. After about a week or so dealing with customer service we ended up getting it covered uder warranty. After all said and done I have notice some more spider cracks. Good luck.

Be sure to get it all covered quick, warranty doesn't pay labor after 1 year is up

I have a 2011 A22 with 216 hours with zero issues with gel coat, windshield, or anything so far. My home lake is pretty big with some wide open water so running the boat in 1-2 foot chop is fairly common so my boat is put under some pounding at times and still the hull is perfect.

I have a 2010 with around 375 hours on it and haven't had any gel coat issues. Even though we only have 375 hours on the engine we also shut it off and bass fish or have kids climbing in and out of it for hours. So the interior is starting to show some wear from peeps walking all over it.
I had an alternator go out about this time last year, parts and labor were covered under warranty (I have owned the boat for about 3 years). Overall axis/malibu has made the experience of owning an axis great.

We have a brand new 2013 that we ordered back last fall. It has 2 small bubbles/pockets in the gel coat that have since "blistered" open. The dealer has told us that will be fixed at the end of the season.
Also, our trailer backup system does not work (the brakes come on). We were told it was our trucks fault (tried 3 vehicles, 2 of them brand new) and yes we have the correct electrical plugin, then we were told we would just have to put the clip in to prevent the brakes from locking up. They wouldn't even look at it during our first 10-20 hour inspection saying there couldn't be anything wrong with the trailer.
Our cruise control system does not function properly. When we turn the cruise off, after about 10 seconds (it will allow you to go as fast as you want in that 10 seconds) it will go back to crusing at whatever the previous speed was set at and the dash does not show the cruise is on but it is still on. This happens if we use RPM cruise and with MPH cruise.
Our wedge indicator warning comes on when traveling over 25 every so often (about once or twice a minute) when the wedge is in the UP position. So it tells us to slow down because the wedge is down but it is actually up.
There is a whole the size of a golf tee in the side of our hull (which we believe lines up with the blister in the gel coat but its hard to see from the inside), no water can get in but you can easily see light through the hole so we're assuming there must be a very fine layer of either gel or hull there but it is very small.
Our windshield hinges are completely bagged out so it flops around (we tried tightening the hinges but the pins inside the hole are way smaller than the hole so it flops around even when the bolts are tight).
All of these issues have been there since we picked up the boat from the dealer (we have 22 hours on it now).

^^^ that's a lot of issues period, muchless, on a new order boat. The trailer issue is hit and miss with almost all boat manufactures and the issue varies between tow vehicles. There was a post on this a while back on Wakeworld.

I had a few issues with my first Axis and everything was taken care of after taking it to the dealer. I did however have a problem with the dealer in Louisiana which everyone I know that has dealt with them has had the same problems.
I would love for guys to give updates on these situations after giving Axis/Malibu the chance to fix it. Seems that we always bash and never give props for resolving issues.

Well my first gel coat issues were air bubbles and it causes the cracking. My dealer Minnesota inboard is great. They have fixed everything so far and I would have to say it looked better than new. I am very maticulous with my toys and truck and I could not find a flaw in the area that was repaired. They said they had 30 hours into buffing my boat and fixing the gel coat. I am very confident they will fix my new cracks by the windshield. The service manager even said to use it the rest of the year and they will have it fixed at no charge this fall. I think it's all about the way the dealer presents the issues to Malibu/axis because I have had a ton of other little things done and it has always been no charge. They even added another drain for my ballast tanks so I wasn't getting the back low from the front to the center and it didn't cost me a thing. I still feel that Malibu needs someone inspecting these boats a little better before they leave the factory.

I have to second what Obrian0501 said. MN Inboard is my dealer too and their service has been nothing short of OUTSTANDING. I had talked to their service manager last summer about how the overflow of front/center would fill the other tank even when I didn't want it. I asked him to install an extra thru hull so I could re-plumb it myself. Not only did he do the thru-hull for free ( I fully expected to pay since I asked for my boat to be modified) but he e en re-did the plumbing for me. I was shocked. There was also a rip in my seat that I don't know if I missed at delivery time or if my family caused it. He covered that as well. Then just Monday this week, I had my paddle wheel get crushed when strong wind caused me to load the boat crooked on the lift. They got the part over to the showroom (since the showroom is about 45 min closer to me than service center) the same afternoon so I could pick it up and be back on the water that evening. I have never experienced such good service from any company any other time that I can remember.
